Sometimes on epic adventures, travelers stumble upon unlooked-for treasure in some tucked-away cave. Such was the case for the initial stages of the journey to build the 2014 Halloween house. Hidden in a warehouse-y area of Santa Clara, a substantial but unobtrusive electrical appliance store would serve as the “cave” in which the Halloween house “treasure” would be found. Around the back, stacked like jewels in a Dwarven hoard, sat stack upon stack of cardboard appliance boxes. Score! Needless to say much of this priceless resource was gathered up and taken with us on our journey toward Middle Earthian Halloween House fun.
