One of the most iconic images associated with the Ghostbusters is their logo. It appears in every movie, on Ghostbuster uniforms and even covers the side of Ecto 1. We needed a big “no ghosts” logo as part of this year’s house.
The logo needed to be 6 feet wide, and so freehand painting would be tricky. So, we used a projector (at night outside) to project the logo on to a large piece of cardboard, adjusting the distance between the projector and screen until the logo was 6 feet wide.
Using a black marker, we traced around the details of the logo.
After all the tracing, we ended up with an accurate, large-scale outline of the logo.
Then, on our first painting day, Brian and Grace began painting the giant logo.
Grace continued to focus on the job, filling in the red “no” symbol.
At our second community painting day, Bich carefully painted the black lines, completing the design.
After the contribution of several talented individuals, the Ghostbusters logo had come to life!
