We wanted to include the heart and star Lego characters from the Lego Movie 2 (“Hello!”) into the design.

I envisioned them being up on our roof, near the top point so they could overlook the crowd.

To make the heart, I created a template (using the standard Lego size template that I developed earlier, but with a curved edge) and cut the overall shapes out.

Then, to add the indentations between pieces, I used a soldiering iron to cut shallow grooves into the Styrofoam. Groovy!

For the star, I created a template for a portion of it (three points) and then rotated it to draw the other points.

All ready to paint!
