The Pixar logo is an iconic part of every Pixar movie. A lamp jumps in, tries to squish a ball, and then becomes the I in the name. I wanted to include a large version of the logo in this year’s design.
I decided to make it out of cardboard. A friend donated some large boxes and I used one for the letters of the logo.
I used a projector and projected the logo to the size I needed onto the cardboard.
While the image was being projected, I traced each letter with a marker.
Then I cut out each letter with a crafting knife.
At Painting Day, some young neighbors painted the letters white.
I built a supporting structure to hold the logo suspended on ropes from the eves of our house.
I painted the structure and added the logo!
