The Splat on the Flat

For this year’s house, we had 2 community painting days, where neighbors, friends and co-workers help paint the props and backdrops for the Halloween House. Below are some shots from those days.

Painting projects are ready for our volunteers to paint, complete with sticky notes indicating which color should be painted on which parts.
Bich tackles the large white areas that will serve as the walls to the house which is visited by the Cat in the Hat.
Kenzie and Michelle paint the stripes of the Truffula Trees.
Bich, Shelly, Gary and Meredith tackle the rest of the Truffula Tree stripes!
Meredith works on the “Oh, the Places You’ll Go” inspired hills.
Trees and hills in their full Seuss-ian color palette.
Bethany paints an umbrella for the Cat in the Hat.
Brian paints the ‘stones’ for the Lorax’s UNLESS leaving spot.
Bob, Jill, and Vanessa tackle the “Merry Merry” banner from Who-ville.
Whoa! Looks like Horton dropped by!
Two Fish. (Background color painted. Illustrated outlines to be painted later).
Helping hands that come out of the Cat in the Hat’s clean up car.
The “Merry Merry” sign all done.

Thanks to everyone who came out and helped to paint this year! We had so much fun and everyone did a great job! Come back on Halloween to show your friends what you made!
